Law school taught you law. The rest… you’ve been figuring out as you go.

This is the place for solo and small firm lawyers to be around other lawyers who are doing the same. Not to impress. Not to perform. Just to show up, listen, talk if you want to, and be part of something that feels a little more human than most of what fills most days.

There isn’t anything here you need to prepare for. There’s nothing to catch up on. You don’t have to know anyone before you arrive. Most people didn’t, at first.

We meet once a week for #TeaTime. It’s a standing conversation. Same general group, new people coming in, familiar ones coming back. The conversation moves depending on who’s there and what’s going on that week. Sometimes it’s about something specific. Sometimes it drifts a bit. Either way, you’ll recognize what’s being talked about.

You don’t have to say anything. A lot of people don’t, especially the first few times. You can just listen and get a feel for it.

Over time, you start to recognize people. You hear something one week that connects to something the next. You realize other lawyers are dealing with the same things you are—even if it doesn’t always look that way from the outside.

And somewhere in all of that, you end up learning things. Not because someone is teaching you. Just because you’re part of the conversation.

Once a year, a lot of the same people get together in person at Law Practice Profit. It feels very much like #TeaTime—just stretched out over a day  instead of half an hour.

That’s really all this is. A place you can come back to.
